For over six years, she has been spinning tracks at various venues, from clubs and festivals to boat parties and children’s raves. Her infectious energy has earned her guest mixes on BBC 1Xtra, KISS Fresh, Rinse FM, and more. Renowned for her multi-genre sets that encompass house, hip-hop, R&B, soul, bashment, garage, and party anthems, Amika knows exactly how to get people on their feet.
Growing up in a music-rich environment, with a DJ father and a mother who was a reggae promoter and manager, Amika was surrounded by the scene from an early age. After completing her university education, she jumped straight into the industry, gaining experience at Media2Radio and establishing her name in radio promotions. She eventually climbed the ranks at Polydor Records, a Universal Music label, and has worked alongside icons such as Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Nelly Furtado, Ice Spice, and others. Currently, she serves as the Head of Specialist & Community Radio at Polydor Records.:
