The monthly party at the Barbary has been a staple in Philly nightlife and is coming up on it’s 11 year anniversary this Friday December 7th. Veteran DJs Emynd and Bo Bliz team up superstar photographer Shots Fired to create a vibe that DJs dream about with a crowd that knows the music and is ready to get sweaty. Jay-Z
Vol 1Not much more can be said that hasn’t already about the legendary Jay-Z aka Sean Carter aka S.Dot aka Jiggaman aka Hova. Since “Reasonable Doubt” dropped in 1996 the New York City rapper has cemented his legacy as one of the most influential rappers and businessmen of all time. He has given us timeless hits like “Empire State of Mind”, “Big Pimpin”, “Izzo”, “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” and the list just goes on and on. Jay is an artist that we will need to make at least 5 playlists for. With that said here is volume 1 of his more iconic songs to date.
Meek Mill
Since the release of “Dreams and Nightmares” in 2012 Philly native Meek Mill has been constantly topping the charts with hit after hit including “Ima Boss” “House Party” “Amen” “RICO” and “Litty”. After a controversial beef with Drake and serving some time in prison some questioned how Meek would bounce back to which he’s quieted all the haters. His new album “Championships” featuring Cardi B, Jay-Z, Rick Ross and Drake(!!) just released 11/30 and is set to be one of the biggest albums this winter with the lead single “Uptown Vibes” already setting the club on fire.

The future of his career is uncertain at this point with a jail sentence looming but there’s no doubt that rapper 6ix9ine aka Tekashi69 has made some power moves in past year releasing club bangers including “FEFE”, “Gummo”, “BEBE”, “STOOPID” and “KEKE”. Time will tell if he’ll be able to continue releasing new music but for now we have a playlist of his top songs to date.
