As  DJ’s Instagram is a HUGE marketing tool…we use it every day.

Earlier this week the social media giant announced that it would be testing a feature that “hides likes” from a users followers. So basically, if you like a photo you’ll only see your like and what mutual friends have liked said post.

This comes from a recent study that said the app is the worst when it comes to helping your mental health. In fact, the study showed that when some people don’t get enough likes on photo’s, it makes them feel not validated and more likely to be depressed.

What this means for DJ’s!

In my opinion, I think it could go either way for DJ’s. You’ll still be able to see all your likes and analytics just fine, it’s just now promoters and entertainment directors can’t. Which is why it’s more important than ever to have quality content on your page. Not having the quality could potentially affect your bookings in a negative way.

Remember this is being tested and not an official change. So unless you’re in Canada, expect to see no changes to your Instagram.
